Mon frère centers on Teddy, a young man who ends up accused of murdering his father — a crime he allegedly commits while trying to protect his little brother from their father’s violence.

While he awaits trial for parricide, Teddy is sent to a closed youth educational center (“Centre Educatif Fermé”) — a harsh, disciplined environment for minors. 

In the center, he meets Enzo, a dominant, troubled teenager. Although their relationship begins with confrontation, the two eventually form a deep bond. 

Together, they hatch a plan to escape. Their attempted break-out leads them on a dangerous journey — including across country borders — as they try to reclaim control over their futures. 

The film explores themes of family violence, trauma, institutionalization, and friendship as a means of survival.
