Je vais mieux follows Laurent, a middle-aged man who suddenly develops intense and persistent back pain. As doctors fail to find a physical cause, it becomes clear that his pain is actually linked to his emotional life.

Laurent begins to realize that his suffering comes from years of repressed frustration, a lack of self-assertiveness, and the pressure he feels from his job, family, and daily obligations. Little by little, he starts questioning the choices he has made and the people around him.

By learning to express himself honestly, stand up for his needs, and let go of what weighs him down, Laurent gradually feels his pain disappear.

The film is a light, optimistic comedy-drama about self-liberation, personal growth, and the healing that comes from reclaiming one’s own life.
