Illettré follows Léo, a young factory worker who hides a painful secret: he is completely illiterate. Unable to read or write, he has learned to survive through avoidance, improvisation, and shame. When a serious accident occurs at his workplace, Léo is wrongly blamed because he cannot read the safety instructions he was supposed to follow.

His life changes when he reconnects with Nora, a woman from his childhood who works in the same company. Discovering his secret, she offers to help him learn to read. Through their growing bond, Léo slowly confronts his fears, his past humiliation, and the stigma attached to illiteracy.

The film portrays Léo’s emotional journey toward regaining confidence, autonomy, and dignity, highlighting the invisible struggles faced by adults who never learned to read.
